Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and volunteering for the community. His first family is that Selmon is the eldest of nine kids raised within Eufala through Lucious Selmon. He played football with his three brothers from Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the players for one season. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in nation by the Outland as well as Lombardi Awards. The three years he was an offensive lineman, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 and won two national championships. In 1975, Selmon was awarded his third scholarship, and was named an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon obtained his master's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in the college. In Tampa, he played for the Buccaneers nine seasons and became an all-pro. Also, he began an entrepreneurial career. The first position he held was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. He has worked previously for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. The Junior Chamber of Commerce honored Lee Roy in 1982 for being among the top 10 young men from the United States. Lee Roy stood 6-2 in height and weighed 256 pounds in his college days. He captained the 1975 team. In 1993 he was appointed associate director of the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. The Selmons' parents Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
