But during the peak of Despacito's fame in 2017, there were 19 mainly Spanish tracks that made the Top 100. And in 2020 the number was 41. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in 2017. Soon after, pop stars began to collaborate with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny on MIA (2018) as well as Madonna collaborated with Maluma in the creation of Medellin. A few performers of reggaeton expressed their displeasure at the rise of mainstream music in 2020. A newly formed group called Rauw Alejandro, wanted to continue the development and growth of reggaeton. He often incorporated elements from electronic dance music, as well as different styles.
